Meet BigBabyGucci

Over the past few years, BigBabyGucci has steadily carved out his place as a standout figure in the underground music scene. With a string of impactful projects like Isolated, Teen Spirit, and Send Help, he’s cultivated a loyal fan base drawn to his infectious melodies and fearless approach to experimental, hard-hitting production. His sound — built in collaboration with producers like Fish, Harold Harper, and Joe Dirt — pushes boundaries while staying unmistakably his. Hailing from North Carolina, BigBabyGucci has embraced independence, recently launching his own label, Better Temperatures, as he continues to shape his evolving creative identity.

When asked in a Ones to Watch interview about his biggest inspirations, he cited an eclectic mix of creatives: “Kanye, Earl Sweatshirt, Tame Impala, Partynextdoor, Drake, Da Vinci.” As for his dream collaborations, he didn’t hesitate: “Kanye or PND definitely one of my dream collabs.” The range of his influences speaks volumes about the genre-blurring vision behind his music — and the ambition that drives it.

The Influence of BBG

BIGBABYGUCCI’s impact on both underground and mainstream music often goes unrecognized, despite his undeniable influence on a new generation of artists. He played a key role in the early development of now multi-platinum rapper Yeat’s career. In fact, Yeat’s first-ever live performance was opening for BBG. The two collaborated on several tracks, including BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN and CANT WASTE NO TIME, and even lived together in Los Angeles in 2019. While the reason for their eventual falling out remains unknown, tension resurfaced in 2023 when BIGBABYGUCCI called Yeat out for “copying his sound” following the leak of Yeat’s Nun id change snippet. Regardless of the current relationship, BBG’s role in shaping Yeat’s early sound and image is hard to overlook.

Another noteworthy connection is with rising star Tommy Richman. During the earlier stages of Richman’s career, the two collaborated on the track LATENITE2REMEMBR, which appeared on Richman’s 2022 project ALLIGATOR. Unlike the fallout with Yeat, there’s no public record of any dispute between BBG and Richman — the collaboration remains a solid example of BBG’s reach and relevance within the broader music ecosystem.

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer marks BigBabyGucci’s first full-length release of 2025, arriving ahead of Pastel, a collaborative EP with producer Alois that dropped in March.

Originally intended as a stopgap release during the multiple delays of his anticipated album House of Mirrors, the project quickly evolved in scope — growing from a mixtape into a full album. Drawing creative influence from early Internet culture, Windows XP visuals, and the minimalist, nostalgic aesthetic associated with the Frutiger design family, Internet Explorer builds on the thematic style seen in previous releases like Is It Ok? and Can’t Feel My Face. The album features a variety of nostalgic audio textures, including samples pulled from vintage Windows software and interviews from the late ’90s and early 2000s centered around the digital age’s early boom.

According to BigBabyGucci, the project was completed in just one week — an impressive feat, even considering that much of the material had been recorded earlier in the year. The result is a tightly cohesive body of work that bridges nostalgia with innovation, reinforcing GUCCI’s ability to consistently reinvent his sound while staying rooted in a clear artistic vision.
